Type & Privilages Of Membership
Ordinary Members: They shall be those who are Registered Medical Practitioners (Allopathic) with a Post Graduate Qualification in Otolaryngology and practicing in the field of Otolaryngology & Head and Neck Surgery. All ordinary members shall be entitled as of right to participate in all the activities of the Association including the right to vote and right to hold an office and shall also be entitled to receive the Journal and other communications free of all charges during the continuance of membership.
Life Members: Any Ordinary Member who pays a lump-sum of an amount as determined by the General Body from time to time in lieu of Annual Subscriptions. Life members will have all the privileges of ordinary members.
Associate Members: They shall be those who are Registered Medical Practitioners (Allopathic) and are interested in Otolaryngology & Head and Neck Surgery but do not confined themselves to this speciality, Post Graduate Students and Residents. All Associate Members of the Association shall be entitled to participate in all the activities of the Association and shall also be entitled to receive the Journal and other communications free of all charges during the continuance of membership. But they shall not be entitled to vote at the meetings of the Association or to hold the position of Office Bearers.
Special Members:
i) Honorary Members : They shall be those who have attendedd the age of 65 Years and have rendered special service to Otolaryngology & Head and Neck Surgery.
ii) Associated Life Members : They shall be those who are Registered Medical Graduates (Allopathic) practicing in Otolaryngology & Head and Neck Surgery in abroad and those who are practicing in allied Subjects and interested in Otolaryngology & Head and Neck Surgery on payment of amount deetermined by General Body from time to time in lieu of annual Subscription.
They will have all the privileges of Associate members except vote at the meetings of the Association or to hold the position of Office Bearers.
3. Subscription:
i. The annual subscription of the association will be Rs. 200/- for an ordinary member and Rs. 150/- for an associate member. A life member will pay Rs. 2000/- in one installment only. For overseas members Rs. 5000/- or equivalent in one installment at the time of enrolment.
ii. The subscription becomes due on the 1st April of the year to which the subscription relates. A member who doesnot pay his subscription for three consecutive years automatically ceases to be a member by 1st April of the succeeding year. However within that year the General Body by a resolution can reinstate the members on payment of full dues.
4. Admission Fee: An admission fee of Rs. 100/- will be charged from every new member at the time of enrolment.
METHOD OF NOMINATION FOR MEMBERSHIP
Every candidate who may apply to the Association for membership shall be nominated by at least one ordinary member to purpose & another ordinary member to second whose names appear on the Register of the Association as existing members and such applications shall be sent to The Honorary Secretary along with amount prescribed subscription and addmition fee as well as their testimonial. The Honorary Secretary will place it before the exicutive committee meeting with his recommendation for approval and to be ratified in the annual G.B. meeting.The Executive Committee shall have the right to decide the eligibility and the class to which the applicant belongs and such decision shall be final. At the time of application for new membership one shall have to sign a membership code of conduct, as follows.

For Enrollment as New Member one has to submit
1. Duly Filled 'MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION FORM'
2. Sighned 'MEMBERSHIP CODE OF CONDUCT'
3. Subscription Amount.
4. Copies of Qualification Certificates
5. Copy of Certificate of Registration Number
Membership Code of Conduct
The Association of Otolaryngologists of India, West Bengal State Branch.
As a member of the Association I will endeavor:
